INSURANCE

I am not in-network with any insurance, however you may be able to submit my statements to your insurance company to collect a portion of the psychotherapy fee. Please let me know if you need any help with this process. You may want to confirm the terms of your mental/behavioral health out-of-network coverage before your first session. You can check on whether you need pre-certification or a referral from your primary care physician, the amount of your deductible, whether there are limits on the number of sessions, and the amount of your reimbursement per session.

FEES

Fees are due at the time of service. I customarily keep your credit card on file, which I charge for sessions.

  • $200 for a 50 minute individual psychotherapy session.

  • $220 for a 75 minute family counseling session.

Fees may be charged for additional services such as telephone consultations longer than 15 minutes, writing of reports, or court appearances.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you.  If you are unable to keep the appointment, please cancel 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, a $100 fee will be charged for the missed appointment.

TELEHEALTH

I am offering both in-office or telehealth appointments. I can only do telehealth appointments for clients in the state of Virginia at the time of service, since I am only licensed in Virginia. If you are scheduled for an in-office appointment and getting to the office becomes difficult, we can switch to a virtual format. The virtual platform I use is doxy.me/janebrewsterpsychotherapy. The link never changes and you don’t need to receive an invitation, as you would for a Zoom meeting.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

I see clients in the City of Alexandria and I live in Fairfax County, so my in-office practice will be closed if either Alexandria City Government or Fairfax County Government are closed. (Please note that I am basing closure on the government closures, rather than the school closures.) Your safety is of paramount importance, and if you feel you must cancel due to inclement weather, you may provide less than 24 hours notice without incurring a late cancel fee. We can easily switch to doing virtual appointments, unless the power is out.

EMERGENCY COVERAGE

The best way to reach me is by email at jane@janebrewster.org. I check my email several times a day between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. I also do some limited texting with clients. I will answer emails and texts within 24 hours. If you feel you cannot safely wait for a return email, text, or phone call from me, please call 911 or 988 (which is the new Suicide & Crisis Hotline) or go to your nearest emergency room.

You may also call CrisisLink at (703) 527-4077 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988, which is also 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
